To Calculate the deck height required (Piston to Head) or the volume needed in the combustion chambers to achieve a desired compression ratio. 

Stock Compression Ratio for the 1600cc motor was about 7.5 to 1

 Raising the compression can increase HP  but requires better fuel then is available at the Pump.

  We normally recommend running lower compression ratios,  so the timing can be advanced more.

       Remember that as the Bore is increased the Compression Ratio goes up.

We recommend a minimum deck height of .040"  for 85.5mm bore   & .060" for 92mm bore.
