Photo shows boring tool used to cut cases for Big Bore Cylinders.
Note: Both diameters and depth plus truing the top surface are
all done in one cut. This insures all cylinders are exactly the same
and cylinder base to the cranks centerline are exactly the same.
This is done on a vertical milling machine not a drill press.
Photo is of case bored for 92's with the small #CS92
savers for 10mm studs.
|
Note: The top of each case
savers must be below the surface the cylinder sits on.
This is important as the cylinder
should not contact the case saver.
We recommend the #CS92 case savers and the 10 mm case studs.
The stock 8 mm case studs were designed to stretch with the 1600cc
cylinders.
If you are using 94 mm cylinders then you must use the
case savers for the 8 mm case studs. If you run any thing but a
very low compression, you will need the chrome molly 8 mm studs
with the 94's.
