Coil Must have built in resistor (as all VW Bosch and Bosch HD Blue Coils) but Mexican. Bosch does not. External resistor can be used with other non-VW coils.

We strongly recommend using a Buzzer for the Oil Pressure and the Generator / Alternator*. If you like gages, run them, But also run the Buzzer. 
 
Note:  As soon as key is turned on the buzzer will buzz until motor is started. 

Note:
On 68-79 T-1 VW's a Fuse Holder is used. Located above the Fan shroud on the firewall. Even when the fuse is OK the connections on both ends will corrode and lose contact. Normally unplug & plugging them back in will do the trick.
