We recommend removing the stock Steering damper and anti-sway bar.
The anti-sway bar can be cut to length and inserted into the long tie rod thus increasing it's strength considerably. Be sure to cut it short enough so the ends don't bottom out.
Using the T-3 long tie rod gets rid of the weakest (and most expensive) tie rod end. Now you need to can carry only two spares, one end with right hand threads and one with left hand threads. On play buggies we beef up every thing but the tie rod ends. When something breaks it's easy and cheap to replace the tie rod ends rather then a spindle or tie rod.

We would also advise tack welding the steering box clamp to the front beam once you have it positioned properly.

Use bolt in flooring as buggies have a habit of getting bent up. Keep it light, 1/8" steel is too heavy. We also leave a 1/2" gap around the outside edge of the floor to let sand and water out.

We found it best to run all the cables in the open, you can use short pieces of tubing where the throttle and clutch cable must make a bend.

It's a good idea to install the solid tranny mount right away, as this can save a lot of problems later.

Install a circuit breaker in the electrical system instead of fuses, normally a 30 amp unit will do the job. See Buggy Wiring->*Click

When you run your wiring from front to back, put several extra wires in place so you can add on goodies at a later date.

Gages are nice, but using a buzzer for the oil and generator is by far the best way to go. Second choice is a very large warning light. Or better yet use both light and buzzer. order

Don't even think of running your buggy without Seat Belts and Shoulder Harness. How to pick the correct Belts

Two more things that are an Absolute Must is mounting your gas tank down solid and securing the battery with metal to metal hold downs.

Another important thing when mounting an Aluminum or Poly gas tank is to use several small dabs of silicon seal under the mounting straps. This will keep the tank from rotating (from vibrations) and on poly tanks let you tighten the bolts down a lot less. You don't want the poly tank to bulge on each side of the hold down strap.

** Got a New Buggy Make sure you know the following, -- Distributor Number ( 9-diget # ck on the body ) -- Carb Type and number ( if its a Solex it will be 34p-3 or something similar )-- Motor Number ( It will be just below the generator stand ) ck -- Type of Front End ( BJ or KP ) ck --  Type of  Transmission Swing Axle ck ( you can not see the axles turn ) or IRS ck ( You can see the axles turn and it has four CV Boots )

When Installing the steering Shaft it is best to install the Seat and Peddles first & then cut the steering shaft to length. The lower clamp-on joint is fine for street cars but we recommend for buggy's. We weld the lower joint to the steering shaft (after the bearing is installed). We drill a 3/8" diameter hole threw the shaft and the weld through each hole locking the lower flex joint "T" to the shaft. The weld can be ground off if the bearing ever needs replacing. We make up stainless steel steering shafts that fit better and hold there good looks longer.*ck

The first step to improving the rear suspension is better torsion bars, not more expensive shocks. Tire Selection when running S.A. Tran
