Ball joint front end replaces King pin front suspension as of
8 / 1965
Needle wheel bearings replace ball bearings.
1st year for ventilating wheel slots & flat hub caps.
Emergency blinker switch was introduced.
New headlight dimmer switch mounted on turn signal.
Center- dash defroster outlet showed up.
Semi-circular horn ring was introduced.
1st year of 30PICT/1 carburetor.
1966 still head 6-volt electrical system. 12-volt did not start until
8/66
Swing Axle Transmission
but with new longer axles, same 4.375 Final Gear Raito, 5-bolt 205mm
Wheels Bolt 4-lug wheels did not start until 8/67 , Older type dual glass head lights and the smaller tail
lights. Gas Filler under front hood, no back up lights & still
used short seat back. No lock on glove box. and listed motor size
"1300" on rear deck lid. Engine still used the small 77mm bore
but stroke was increased from 64mm to 69mm and compression raised from 7:1
to 7.3:1 Collectors especially like the older type headlights &
the 1300cc emblem on the rear deck lid.
IRS didn't start until 1968
Chassis Number stamped on frame tunnel under rear seat.
Motor Number stamped under generator support, 66-on used code letter preceding
number.
Parts are very easily changed so we recommend you keep track of
the part numbers from the Carburetor (normally on the side of the
carb) Distributor (9-diget number on the distributor body), Engine
Number (just below the firing order under the Gen/Alt Stand) and know
if it's 6 or 12 volt and if you 12v system is Gen or Alt.
Note: Alternator replaces Gen. in 8/73 Timing
